When Denise gave me the CAS challenge of “watercolor”, I was thrilled that I was Guest Designer this week. I thought of the many watercolor-like techniques that we stampers can use, but I decided to go with the real deal.
I thought back to a class that I had taken at the Missouri Botanical Garden years ago, called “Chinese Brushstroke Painting”. It is the CAS of watercolor in my mind. LOTS of meditation(too much for a slap dash person like myself) before putting brush to paper. Each stroke has to say something and is put down once with no “futzing” around with it….so you have to think before you make each stroke and hope that your brush is loaded correctly. A lily that bloomed in our yard in July was my inspiration for this card.

Oh Sallie, this lily is awesome! This is a piece of art. The colours are beautiful. I agree with Doni .......this has a Zen like quality. I can spend a long time gazing at it and it really has a calming effect.

Your watercolor skills are amazing. I took a watercolor class decades ago, and that is what I remember about watercolor, it is not a medium that can be fixed very easily so you have to lay it down correctly the first time.
