This is the other version of my easy but frustrating card. I just don't do well with gesso. The splitcoast tutorial for this week inspired me to try again, but it still is not my favorite medium. Sponged gesso through various leaf and flower stencils onto black cardstock allowing splotches to go everywhere. Tried to stamp patterns onto the leaves with green ink, but they didn't show up well. Rather than applying dylusions with the spray, I used a cotton swab for more control. Went over the gesso again with distress inks using a sponge. Then further darkened the leaves and flowers with gel pens. Outlined and doodled with black and white gel pens. Sponged the checkered boarder onto white card, distressed edges of main panels. Easy but messy. A quick SOS, I am doing another card using fussy cutting and my scissors is awful. Any suggestions for a good, not too expensive scissors?

I think this card is stunning!! I love the color that pops out and grabs the viewer! I love the image and the gems in the flowers. I would have never guessed you had any issues. It looks like a beautiful work of art to me! It's going in my faves!
