This covers this week's Mix-Ability challenge to use crackle and stitching, and it's also re-purposing a background from Dina's challenge last week which I never got finished.
A2 pale blue base.
Kraft stamped with IO Craquelure in white (hard to see) and Peaceful Wishes bough in Vintage Photo. Edges sponged with Vintage Photo.
My main piece is the left-over from last week. When my first two attempts had come to nothing I took out a homemade stencil and sprayed with gold and silver aerosol paints.
And then I spilled half a bottle of pine green re-inker all over my cutting mat. Since I had my canned air handy I blew it around a bit on the kraft tag, and you can still see some of that. The spray paints acted as a resist and the ink just wiped off the circles. By now the sentiment stamp I'd inked up was half dry, and since I was going away for the weekend, that was as far as I got.
Today I trimmed the tag down to fit the card and stitched it on. Spellbinders Poinsettia cut from Core-dinations and sanded - the centre is a silver Dew Drop and gold Stickles.
Sentiment is from Lili of the Valley, stamped on a scrap of pale blue paper with Versafine Sepia, and then I did cracked glass on it. (Resorting to what I knew worked, since my faux barn board didn't really, and my first background for Ky ended up in the bin). I used up some scraps of gold cord lying on the desk, and that's about it.
And I see I used my cut-down tag upside down so that where I didn't finish the zig-zag stitching off neatly shows. It's been one of those days. But it's a vintage-y grungey card, so I think I can get away with it.

Sabrina, this is gorgeous. I love how your spilled, stenciled, blown background came to be. It looks awesome behind your beautiful poinsettia and cracked sentiment. I tried to crack my sentiment today and I couldn't get one to work where you could still read it. Yours has enough crackle but can still be read. Well done!

Wow! I love your description. A lot of my projects end up like yours - saved by love and refusal to give up. I think this is a wonderfully vintage card, and I hope the recipient cherishes it. Our cards seem to have a life of their own, don't they? I love that you combined Dina's challenge into this. I can see us all growing together!

Love your cracked glass technique, Sabrina. I have tried it many times, and never have much luck with it. Yours turned out terrific. And I absolutely love your circle panel. Do you think you can recreate it . Seriously, it turned out amazing!

Oh, the circle tag turned out great - I bet it looks fabulous IRL! And I love the sentiment piece. I've only ever tried that technique once and wasn't pleased. Yours looks just like I think cracked glass should!

Well, your creation is fabulous and your description is funny and all to familiar. The end result is perfect, I love the way you have stitched the two panels together!

I can so relate to this - some cards just have a life of their own ;)
I'm so pleased you didn't give up as you have made a wonderful job of this and created a lovely vintage card. Great job with the crackle finished sentiment too ...
tfs and making me smile ..
