I love the lacy die-cut butterflies floating in the raised panel and, since I make more Christmas cards than any other type of card, I immediately wondered about changing the butterflies to the lovely lacy ornament die-cuts by Memory Box.
The dies are cut out of the white panel first (these ones are set aside for a future project) and then cut again out of the coloured cardstock to use in the holes left in the white panel. Because the panel is raised and the dies are so lacy, it's tricky to keep them in there - I put tiny pieces of dimensional tape wherever possible.

Wowsers! What a pretty Christmas card with great dimension yet still perfectly mailable and the intricate die cut ornaments look great in this treatment!

Susan, your ornaments are so life like! Just beautiful.....love the technique and pretty ribbon~ I did the same thing, changed from butterflies to snowflakes so I could have another Christmas card done~
