Judy's challenge today to use an older technique made me remember some of why I started stamping. I enjoyed taking something ordinary and turning it into something special to make someone smile when they opened the envelope and pulled out the card. It wasn't about likes or comments, or favorites, it was about how it made me feel. So that is what I focused on today. I had a hard time picking a technique that didn't require my heat gun, since mine is still out of commission due to puppy dog chewing off the cord. So I went with #11 which was to make a shabby chic card. For the shabby part, I used brown paper bag, burlap, distressed digi paper, twine, and SU itty bitty background to distress the paper bag. I also used my decorative scissors. Now for the chic, I added pearls and rhinestones and my little butterfly (MFP set called DAFFODIL GREETINGS) and sentiment (MFP set called GLAD GLADS). The hardest part for my card was finding my eyelet setter for the 4 eyelets? Remember using eyelets on all our projects? It took at least an hour to locate my setter. Making this card made me happy. I smooshed wildflowers onto cardstock that I had printed the distressed digi onto. This morning this card was a pile of brads, pearl stick pins, eyelets, rhinestones, a plain piece of white cardstock, a plain piece of black cardstock a brown paper bag and a piece of burlap and a piece of twine and wildflowers growing outside. Now look at it. I used MOJO304 for the layout.
