Maybe this card is a metaphor for me?
Years ago, I had cut out some hearts from a very thin metal to use for Valentine's Day, I still had some left and they've now rusted. I noticed in the CAS challenge that the hinges on the little door were rusty so I focused on that. I used lots of layers to frame the heart but I still thought that this was CAS enough for the Monday challenge.

Wow - fantastic! The woodgrain looks totally amazing, the heart is wonderful and the mirror stamping is great. I liked how Joan had done words in her sample, I'd never have thought of that. It looks great!

Love your card and your style. Rusted metal is difficult to create but having it on hand is as good as it gets. Your layering is awesome and the added touch of the staples is perfect for this!
