This is for MIX24 - in which we were challenged to use either designer/printed tissue paper or napkin and Mod Podge to create a decoupage effect. Optional was to create texture. Why am I repeating all of this, as if everyone reading it hasn't probably done the challenge themselves and already knows all of it? Because I was a bit confused by the directions - through no one's fault but my own, I'm sure. I think I did what I was being asked to do,but I might be wrong. Not that it matters. There are no Card Police in The Republic of Mixability. It's a lovely place.
I did not have any patterned tissue paper or napkins, nor did I have any tissue paper of any kind, so it was a plain white napkin for me. I used a Cover A Card stamp (Geologic) and Chestnut Roan Fluid Chalk Ink to pattern it, and then slapped some Mod Podge on some CS and pressed it down loosely. I left some slack because I wanted to scrunch it, but turns out the napkin was too soft to take a crease, and it wouldn't adhere, I just had a lot of air pockets, so I embossed it using my Crackle EF and that got it stuck down. I swiped the edge of an Adirondack dye ink pad (Stream) across it here and there to emphasize the crackle pattern a bit. So that was my interpretation of the challenge. I think I was supposed to Mod Podge over my BG (like you do with regular decoupage), but truthfully I'm not a fan of Mod Podge as a sealer and I really liked the BG all soft and un-sealed. So there you have it.
The rest was just a lot of dithering over what to put over the BG. (Isn't that always the way with me?) I will point out that that diagonal strip is a leftover edge from THIS challenge. And I still have a couple more strips of it left.
Flower stamps are from PTI and doll face stamps are Lost Coast. Those hearts are metallic paper. Beats me how to get them to look like it in a photo, though.
Thanks for looking!

You do a lot of interesting layouts with your cards..I really like how you spotlighted the 3 faces (I could tell those were Lost Coast). Your bg is kind of wild (in a good way)...love how you added the blue streaks. Very cool card ;)

This is another fantastic Rachelrose creation. I LOVE your background! Using the crackle ef was a terrific idea, and your blue swipes tie in so well with your leftover strip. Interesting images, too. Like Polly said, this is very cool!

I love that you went your own direction with the background; you ended up creating something new and totally unique. It really shows your creative bent. Excellent card!
