This birthday card is for my father in law. It's a window card; the cake is stamped on the inside of the card. Even though the image is from a rather cutesy stamp set, I have been dying to use it! So I tried to "man" the card up as best I could with masculine colors and textures. The hardware challenge helped! And anyway, what guy doesn't love cake? I scored the baja breeze layer at every 1/2 inch and then dragged a Crumb Cake ink pad over it to create a weathered wood look.

Oh - window cards are fun to get! I think you've made the cake look perfectly masculine with your colour choice and the great weathered looking paper on the front. I really like the way you've layered the sentiment, too.
