Sheesh, today was not the day to be thinking about quilts. We've had what I read earlier is our first ever "heat alert" from the weather services, and now, at nearly eight in the evening, it's over 90F in my attic. Glad I came in earlier to do my stitching!!
I loved how my background yesterday turned out, so I made another one (IO Vines stamped in Mowed Lawn, sponged with Tumbled Glass, stamped with Linen in Broken China) and cut it into little one inch squares. After sponging all the edges I made the crazy decision to actually stitch each square - I think it took me longer tidying up all the loose ends than the stitching.
While I have Linen for faux fabric, I cut my flower from a last scrap of some lovely raw silk (talk about fraying edges, apt for the challenge) using Spellbinders Dahlia, and stitched them together with a button, then added Stickles.
My Sizzix flourish is cut from cork, so at this stage this is another card for MIX23. TCP sentiment, Spellbinders Fancy Tags, pearls, and then since I still had my tomato paste tube and butterfly on the table from last week, I threw in a few little butterflies for good measure.
The card is a slightly odd size - 5"x 4" for the pieced quilt, layered on white with distressed edges and then popped up on a 5 3/4" card base trimmed at the edge to fit, and sponged with Squeezed Lemonade.
So it's probably about 5 3/4" x 5".

Sabrina, this is beautiful! I love the paper you used.....so fresh and pretty and that silk flower is fabulous!
Wow......what a heat wave! Can you say 'Climate change'! Yesterday Toronto had 126 mm. of rain in 3 hours. A record rainfall ever! Subway tracks inundated with water......it took up to 7 hours to rescue some people from the trains. Power outage for 350.000 people. And you've probably read about the floods in Calgary a couple of weeks ago.....my niece is just getting back into her apartment this week.

Wow, you sound like me with the ever so small squares, and stamping them, edging and then stitching them--great job. Came out adorable and really cute.

I do like how your faux fabric came out -- beautiful colors and patterns. The whole card is so serene.
Heat waves are no fun. Sounds like you might need to stay out of the attic until things cool down.

Sabrina, this is one beautiful quilt!! The Spellbinders Dahlia die set is my favorite for making flowers (the ones I make have 20 layers), I've never tried one out of silk, but may have to! This is a beautiful earthy card, with the fabric faux and real and cork! Oh yeah, I love the gilded little butterflies too!

So pretty Sabrina!!! Your quilt is wonderful!!! The green vines on the blue background is gorgeous! I love that you cut all the little squares for a quilt and I am sure it will mean so much to Ms Evelyn! I also LOVE those teeny, tiny butterflies! Wow, they are so small! Your fabric flower is lovely and the button center is wonderful! Fabulous card and I almost forgot....LOVE the sewing too!!!

Wow Sabrina, everything about this is precious. The colours are beautiful and the silk flower is wonderful. This was obviously a real labour of love considering the heat wave you are having.
