I decided to try the 3d paper piecing tutorial from the June 5 Weekly Inking posted by Mariska aka Veertje. I looked to the Inspiration Challenge IC395 website Lilly Pulitzer for my inspiration and saw this wonderful floral necktie and pulled my colours from it. Then once I had everything all coloured and cut out according to the instructions, I looked to this week's Featured Stamper Laura Nehring (aka thecraftysister) for further inspiration. What a wonderful gallery you have Laura!
I chose Laura's Smile card and decided to try and put my little girl into an off center frame too. Changed up the colours and image, and moved my sentiment to the top.
The paper piecing is a lot of work, but I will definitely try it again - especially if it means I may eventually create pieces like Mariska does!
Thanks for taking a peek!
