Here is my card for this weeks teaparty. We are heading to Folsom, CA. We are sending our cards to Karin, who is the cousin of SCSer Renee. Karin is having some very, very serious health issues.
We are asked to bring quilts, quilt patches, quilting tools, quilt books, and even a quilting buddy if you wish. We want to bring messages of hope and support to Karin and her family. Bring it all in shades of pastels for a country look. But no loud, vibrant, jarring fabric or it's the back door for you.
I have created this Woven Quilt card. My sister Valerie-Raye - had showed me a quilt that she made using this woven technique. I used two different designer papers. Cut 5" squares of each. Used my Xacto knife to cut Wavy strips - cut all the way across - both squares. Next I wove the papers together. Matted with brown cardstock. Sewed edges. I made the ruffled, embellished ribbon #today's technique challenge#. Stamped the flower from Fifth Avenue Floral used Vintage sepia ink, coloured with Stampin up and Tombow markers. Cut out. Applied Diamond stickles and then clear embossed the flower and button. Made the 3" square sentiment panel. Stamped on the sentiment from "Bird on a Branch" set. Punched out the leaves and sewed on. Sewed on the flower. Popped up the image panel.
I really like how this turned out...
Hugs..Pat

What a gorgeous crazy quilt Pat. I actually made one of these years ago with embroidery joining the squares. I love your flower panel with the lacquer blossom.

Wonderful design and colors and your flower is so pretty! Your rouched ribbon w/pearls is a nice addition, too. So kind of you to take so much time to create this beautiful card for Karin and her family. Such a sad situation.

Pat, this is a gorgeous woven quilt. I love the two different coordinating papers. So pretty. Love the sparkly clear embossed flower too and the stitching.

What a great look this has, Pat. I must try this. The wavy lines give this such a different feel. GReat colors!
