I have a list of challenges I wanted to try but never had time and every so often, I look at it and there is one that perfectly suits a card I need to make. This time I needed to do a graduation card for a friend's son who is graduating from high school and has gotten a scholarship for the program he wants to do at university.
He worked so hard for it so the background image of shelves and shelves of books was perfect - it's a piece I cut from the cover of a publisher's catalogue. And the chalkboard technique is new to me. It showed up in two challenges on my list - a Technique Lovers' Challenge and a CAS Challenge. I used the instructions from the TLC one, which is very similar to one of the methods suggested in the CAS challenge.
I stamped and heat embossed my image and sentiment in white, then sponged a bit of white chalk ink around it to get the look of a chalkboard that has been erased.
