This card for my dog-loving stepdad meets the MIX19 challenge to use paint, soft pencil, chalks or gesso to create a frame around your focal point but smear and smudge it on!
I printed the picture on my computer and applied a fairly thick border of Crackle Accents. I cut a matching craft foam piece and adhered the picture with Scor-Tape. The corner accents were made by die cutting a square nestie, cutting it into quarters and trimming the edges. I attached two of these to the back of my focal image and adhered it to the BG layer. The sentiment is heat embossed in black.
I decided I was going to smudge the Crackle Accents with Distress Paint (after everything was put together, of course) and in doing so smudged the bg accidentally. Decided to just go with it and added some more smudges. Not sure I really like it, but, hey, puppies are messy, right?
Anyway, here it is, and as always, thanks for looking!

What a cute picture of happy pups and yes they are messy. That's a great technique with the crackle accents and smudging. Love that creativity in your card.

Aww! Look at all those adorable Jack Russel Terriers!!! That is such a wonderful image! I think the "smudges" look fantastic! They look like perfect distressing to me! Super cute Father's Day card, can't help but smile!
