This design is loosely based on a Shari Carroll design from an Online Card Class, His and Hers. I trimmed an inch off the right side of the card and adhered two different patterned papers from my go-to feminine paper pad, All About Girls from DCWV. I love how the different patterns coordinate with similar colors.
All the other papers come from the same pad, with the exception of the yellow stripe. The dress is a die-cut from Spellbinders Decorative Dress Forms dies, popped up with foam squares. Isn’t it cute? I also used the matching Cindy Echtinaw Designs All Dolled Up stamp set to stamp the dress form base in Staz On brown ink and the “My Party Dress” sentiment on a horizontal banner, which I cut by snipping a triangle from the right end. I made the little flower with a Martha Stewart punch and a turquoise enamel dot from My Mind’s Eye in the center.
The final touch? A tiny wire hanger from 7 Gypsies, adhered with Glossy Accents, and four rounded corners with my Corner Chomper. You canÂ’t see it here, but I added a happy birthday sentiment on the inside.
So, is this card ready to grace the pages of Vogue? IÂ’m not sure Anna Wintour would agree, but I think my fashion-forward friend will like it.
Please tell me what you think. Thanks for looking!
