FIRST - Today is my sweet Mom's birthday! A week or so ago, I "reached out" to you all, the SCS "family," asking you to send birthday cards to my Mom. For those of you reading this, who don't know ... she had surgery on 5/2, was hospitalized four times after, then two wks ago last Thurs., she was rushed in for life-saving surgery. She pulled through, again defying the drs. and surprising the surgeon! Thank God that she has the determination and will to live! She is home now and progressing, even though it's at a snail's pace (which needless to say, is driving her crazy, yet she is so grateful to be here, alive.) To ALL of you GREAT GALS who sent her birthday cards with SCS/Teapotter "love" and good wishes, please accept our HEARTFELT THANKS! Once again, her life has been BLESSED by YOUR KINDNESS and GENEROSITY! [insert big hug here]
?? Does anyone know where I can post this thank you so my thank you will reach more members all at once? I know not that many people will see it and read this and I do want everyone to know how grateful we are! Thanks for pm-ing me if you know of such a thread/spot.
Onto my card:
Congrats JODI (jodi r.) on being our new FS for this week! Your gallery is splendid! This box that I saw in your gallery, along w/a polka dot plate from yesterday's IC challenge, inspired my birthday card:
I am also joining Brenda's VSN water color challenge. She asked that you stamp a water image or use water to create your card. I did the latter. One color at a time, I used my markers to scribble each color onto my Ranger non-stick craft mat. I spritzed the scribbles w/water, then used an acrylic bristle paint brush (from my days of painting wood crafts) to pick up the ink and "paint" the paper.
I have made my Mom fru-fru, shabby cards two yrs in a row. After all she has been through, I decided to change that up this year and make her this bright, bold, sassy kind of card. I think she will be surprised ... hopefully happily.
THANKS FOR LOOKING!
