I created this card for the SweetStamps challenge and this week the theme is Dad and my dad loved the wide out doors and horsesÂ…if there is a heaven I do hope they have horses, dogs and other animals right there with the people! But please keep the dinosaurs in another section please!
I created the background with the masking technique - torn paper and a 1” punched circle from a post it note for the sun. My inks were Tim Holtz Distress Inks - from the bottom up: Forest Moss, Peeled Paint, Scattered Straw, Spiced Marmalade, Barn Door.
The SweetStamps images: 2 Horse Silhouette , Tree #2 785 – for the card panel, Tree 732 for insert and envelope, Queen Anne’s Wildflowers Silhouette and this image was stamped in portions and even upside down to create the left side and along the bottom of the card of the card panel.
The trees were filled in with a Marvy fine tip black marker.
I did the negative resist technique for the embossed panels and this means the negative side (smoothest) is inked up then the cardstock is placed in the folder and it gets run through the machine leaving ink on the lower portion of the folder. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Vintage Photo was used on the brown and Spiced Marmalade on the yellow. Embossing folders are Cuttlebug Textiles and Tim Holtz Gridlock
The Perfect Layers tools from Perfect Paper Crafting was used to cut the 1/16” and ¼” borders. Use any brand craft knife or rotary cutter for cutting. A tutorial video can be found on the company site.

OMG Roxie, what a beautiful work of art. I am sure your darling Dad is looking down with a smile from ear to ear to think his darling daughter could and would create a card worthy of framing in his memory :-) Your masking, colors and amazing card & envelope scenes are stunning! TFS my friend.....
