I loved this inspiration piece from Saturday's challenge site Jennspendants but until I saw Dina's card today I wasn't sure I could do it. Thanks for the push with the challenge to paint or freehand a shape then add line details to it. I used a reverse of Tim Holtz bird on branch die cut to get the basic shape of my branch using marker scribbled on acetate and a wet paintbrush. I then added little blobs of pink for my flowers. I outlined my bird shape in light pencil then used ink and paintbrush to fill in the shape. Then I went back with Chocolate Chip and Regal Rose markers to add definition to my watercoloring. I scribbled Bordering Blue on acetate and shaded around and created a wash bg. I then sponged some Baja around the edges and layered onto a Raspberry Ripple circle. I wanted to honor our Queen for the Day Stacy aka Twinshappy so I used the layout from this beautiful card....the whole thing fit in so well with what I already had in mind, but created the perfect backdrop for it. Pictures of the process on my blog.
