Jeanne's VSN challenge was to make a card with splatters of paint that has been thinned with water, ink refills or pre-made ink sprays in a summer theme. Well, I kind of stretched it with the summer theme, but the colors are summery, and Chatty Cathy is calling a friend to invite her on a picnic. heh heh...
I have been trying to learn how to use watercolors. I have an aversion to anything that requires a brush, so I'm not doing really well. I need a one-on-one tutor. But I did manage to watercolor this image. I love her retro dress!
I used yellow and green watercolor paint for my splatters, and I did learn something new. It is better to flick the brush quickly to get a nice splatter. I was trying to do it slow so I could have control, i.e., not have it go all over my table, etc. But Brrrzzt - fast gives much better coverage.
I rated this a difficulty of 3 because I really struggled trying to get color on my image.

Val,
Your image is in the perfect summer outfit! The colors and the flowers work wonderfully together. And of course your splatter turned out fantastic - I think I am going to have to try this one again!
