Yesterday we celebrated my dear friend Phyl's 85th birthday. She is such a talented cardmaker (as well as many 3D items) and a constant inspiration to me. I made her "Born an Original" card a couple of weeks ago and posted it (see insert on this picture) and I might have got a tad bit carried away with the gold embossed butterflies on this bag (you think???). But I was having so much fun making butterflies, gold embossed on black glossy paper that I now have lots of leftover overs! Maybe a future card???
I cut out my butterflies first and then embossed them with different backgrounds. The awesome flower, Amana Circle by Memory Box...not really a flower but I made it into one) is a die gift from dear Loll, I just punched a gold center for it! (Punch Bunch) Most everything is from Memory Box with the exception of one unknown butterfly die (purchased at a little booth at a convention...no name on it) Ribbon (made with Bowdabra) and button from Jo Ann's. Paper from Michaels (Reccolections Metal Collection) and bag from Party City. I had a really difficult time photgraphing this and the insert doesn't help the overall picture but wanted you to see that they were made to go together. Those of you on Facebook can see some Photo's from the celebration! This was made with LOTS of love... for a very special person in my life.

Hi Peggy. Gorgeous bag and matching card ... I'm sure Phyl loved it. The gold and black together are so elegant and you can definitely tell this is "your style" - beautiful as always ... and always inspiring. Loll xx

Ha! No such thing as being carried away with sparkle and bling! It's a written rule somewhere. I absolutely love this gorgeous creation... especially the gold butterflies and the gold and black colour combination. Such an elegant confection for your wonderful friend. Happy Birthday Phyl.

What a gorgeous bag to match the card you have made, Peggy! There's no need for a gift inside with this beauty of a bag! The only thing that's getting carried away, is the bag with all the butterflies!
