This is for Mix 17 - Yin Yang II. We were to do a rough/smooth combo. I had pulled out all my mediums and texture pastes and paints and... this is what I ended up with. I just was not feeling very collage-y this week, maybe because in my heart I just wanted to play with my new Local King butterfly stamps and then I wanted to play with my new embossing folder and my new corner punch. And use my Bow Easy, which I have finally learned how to use correctly. None of which was going to lead anywhere but straight to pretty and sweet.
In any case, my rough is my two embossed textures - Checkers by Darice and Script by Cuttlebug (here not easy to see in black behind the butterflies) - and my smooth is the VERY SMOOTH glossy paper I used to stamp the lace and the butterflies on. Plus a very smooth satin bow (yeah, I'm reaching, how about the smooth cardstock base while we're at it...)
Thanks for looking!

I like this..you have a knack of putting together different, unexpected combinations of colors...I probably would have never thought of the hot pink with the purple, and the pear green, and the deep mustard (unless it was a color challenge) ..it looks incredible together! Love the black and white lacy border and hey..you got to use all your new toys....sounds like you had a lot of fun..and you got a gorgeous card!

Collagey or not, this is a wonderful creation. Your beautiful butterflies are perched atop a very lovely sketch!
