Here is my Teaparty card for last week's challenge. Our party was for Rich, the son of Mary, a fellow TPer (Redi2stamp.) Rich is an Army veteran who, 15 yrs ago, was injured during a night jump. As a result, he has faced health challenges and limitations. He now has a chronic and incurable form of leukemia, for which he sometimes has to be hospitalized. Rich has a family who he loves and he enjoys playing games w/his kids. He has deep faith. He sounds like a terrific man and I did not want to totally miss out on making and sending him a card. I hope this "latecomer" card brings him a smile.
Note that the delay in making the card was ... I was totally stumped and w/o ideas for a card based on Star Wars, Star Trek. From talking to some family and friends, I discovered that I may be one of the few earthlings that saw only the first Star Wars movie, and that's only because my date took me to see it. Hee! At most, I think I've seen three episodes of Star Trek. That was only because while visiting a friend who was crazy for Spoc (I think that is his name), the show happened to come on TV before the one we planned to watch. What can I say? My late brother was totally into sci-fi and was an area champ at Dungeons & Dragons ... he loved that kinda stuff. I guess I didn't get the sci-fi "gene." Hee!
So ... I searched the internet for some quotes from both Star Wars and Star Trek. After reading about 42,000 (hi mudder!) quotes, most of which made no sense to me, I came upon this one. Viola! It sparked an idea and my card was born. It is simple but certainly heartfelt, and my personal message reflects on the quote.
THANKS for reading my "book" and looking!

We are kindred spirits Gabby. I only ever saw the first movie, don't think I ever saw it on tv and my late brother loved sci-fi. I'm more a Jetsons gal. Your card is terrific my friend.
