This card is for a couple of this week's challenges. First, the Queen for the Day is Stampingwriter. She has a wonderful gallery with a great variety! I see she loves VSN...I admire that! Finishing a card in 45 mins can be so difficult....but I am easily distracted...especially when I first got on Pinterest! hehehe I know I am not alone with that one! Anyway (see how easily I got off track?!!!) I didn't have to look far to see a card I wanted to case: MAR12VSNMINI1 I hope roosters count by stampingwriter at Splitcoaststampers
As soon as I saw Sandy's scalloped oval with the bit of paper embroidery, I immediately thought of this fabulous bit of paper embroidery given to me by Jennifer (Mother's Daughter)! Thank you Jennifer, this is so PERFECT! I die cut the sentiment panel and added a bit of chalk to the edges. Instead of ribbon, I used some of the Graphic45 paper so I could meet the challenge of BIG and little (TLC414) given to use by Joan. This week she has a birthday (Hip, Hip, Hooray for Joan!) and for the TLC428 challenge, Judy asked us to case one of Joan's cards or use one of the many challenges she has hosted. Joan, I hope your birthweek has been wonderful! Thank you so much for ALL the fantastic challenges and inspiring all of us!!!
This card is for my hubby, who left this morning for his hometown of San Diego. He will spend time with his family and even a golfing tournament with the company for which he worked eleven years. He is such a wonderful man and loving husband. He lets me fiddle with all these toys for paper crafter's to my hearts content and takes such good care of me. I am blessed and I want him to know it. Evidently, I want everyone to know it.
Paul doesn't need a lot of fancy, so I am hoping this leans towards masculine.
Sandy, it was a delight to view your gallery and I am so thrilled to case your card tonight! Hope you enjoy your week as Queen!!!
Joan, again, thank you for all you do! Hope your birthday is wonderful!!!

Kathleen, I love this card for your hubby! I hope you put it in his suitcase for him to find while he's away! I love roosters, so this card is a winner for me too! Then you used the embroidered piece I sent to you, making it even more of a winner!
I'm sure you will be missed as much as you miss him! And hopefully he will enjoy seeing his DD and DGD too!

This is so pretty - I love the rooster and the colors you used. Nice touch on the yellow oval sewing - how neat!

This is an awesome CASE Kathleen. I don't think I've seen that paper embroidery before, but gosh, it's probably going to end up on my list of things I want to learn how to do.
You need to try VSN sometime -- not the whole 2-day affair, but a challenge or two. A little bit of panic as you look for the right embellie with 10 minutes left on the ticking clock -- it's good for you, really!

What a beautiful looking rooster, Kathleen! Very masculine in itself~I see you even added some stitching to your card like Sandy had on hers. Love the strip of roosters for your bg. Hubby should appreciate this creation! Keep safe while he's gone~
