Our fellow teapotter Dorothy (etsdas) has told us about a very special teacher who has organized a kindness club in her school which engages student in playing fairly, and living by the golden rule. During their twice-weekly meetings, Barb and the children discuss the importance of playing together, including others, following rules and complimenting people. The club’s primary activity, however, continues to be creating handmade cards to lift the spirits of others—often with life-changing results. Since 1995, her grade 4 students (and now grade one) have sent 47,000 handmade cards to sick, lonely, or grieving people. This card is a thank you to her and her students.
The Penny Black image was coloured with copics and the pink dress and flowers in both girls hair were paper pieced. The apple from the SU Countryside set was stamped in red, coloured with a Tombow marker and shined up with glossy accents.
