I finally managed to make it to the teaparty, it has been a while, and I missed it. This week our cards are going to a teacher, named Barb.
For many years, Barb and members of her club (the Kindess Club) have spread sunshine by making and distributing more than 47,000 greeting cards to people who are ill, mourning, lonely or struggling with other adversity in their lives.
So now it's Barb's turn to get some cards. My card was made by me recycling a greeting card that my sister-in-law had made for a few years ago. I hate to get rid of cards people send me, especially if it's a home made one...but my house only has so much room...smile. So I asked my sister-in-law if I could take the pretty apple off the card that she made for me using her embroidery sewing machine, and make a new card with it. She was delighted to know that not only did her card to me bring happy mail in my mailbox that it will also be happy mail for barb.
Obviously, I am sending my card to Barb...along with Mother Mark's apple (I didn't lose it...I was worried about that!) and some goodies for the children.

It is good to see you this week!
This is a lovely way to recycle a card. I understand what you are saying - I have a shoebox full of such (RAK's, etc.) I intended to CASE many of them but seldom get that done. Thanks for sharing in this THank You for Barb.

Recycling is always the best..besides it clears out some of the stuff we save!

How great that you were able to enjoy that lovely apple yourself and then upcycle it to send it on to delight other people too. I used to love embroidering cards when I had more time - I think the texture is just great.
