This week, Mary gave us the challenge of an elegant mambo on the river! The colors are elegant eggplant, melon mambo and river rock.
I don't know that I would have tried these colors together, but I have to say, the gallery is filled with beautiful cards with this combination!
I used white embossing powder to make the lace stamp show up a little better. For the white background I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder. For the flower, I used the SU! framelits from Secret Garden and cut the petals so they would be a little easier to curl (towards the center). Then, I edged the petals with a little chalk and used an antique brad for the center. I curled the edges of the petals and the leaves.
Thanks for taking a peek, and Mary, thanks for a wonderful challenge!

WOW..really pretty design for these colors..that lacy edging is superb! The flower with its antique brad is lovely and goes great with the white embossed bg. Way to go using these colors

I was challenged by these colors as well. But you were able to pull of such a elegant, lovely card, Kathleen. The simple layout and the crispness of the lace and embossed white BG are so pretty against the soft flower. Mambo melon is a pretty bright color, but here you've gotten a mellow look with it. Great card!

Wow. This is stunning, Kathleen. I love how you used white embossing on the lacey frame and a white dry embossed bg. That flower is beautiful and I bet those colors really pop IRL against the neutral base!
