I created this ATC for Janelle's MIX11 "Frame It!" challenge. She asked us to use scrap pieces of the negative space left from die cuts to either stencil or frame our image. I chose to frame (well sort of). I created two panels by dropping re-inkers onto pre-dampened white cardstock. For the base, I used greens and browns. For the top I used blues and browns lightened in spots with white gesso for light and dark contrast and added a tiny bit of texture misting with blue spritzer. I punched the blue panel with a fern frond punch to allow the green background to shine through.
All of the Mix-Ability hostesses would love to invite you to participate in this and the other mix-ability challenges. Every Friday, we will share another technique that shows you how fun and simple mixed media really is.
Thanks for dropping by!
Hugs,
True

Beautiful, True! I love the hand drawn doodled frames. They really give the card a great feel.

Another WOW card that you created! I love all of it, but using gesso to highlight the negative space is genius, IMHO!
