This is my card for TLC423, combining three challenges:
1. Stamp an image with lots of clear space on light colored card stock.
2. Mask the image and sponge a darker background color all around the image.
3. Remove the masking and glitter up all or part of the image....no coloring allowed!!!
4. BTW...if you use Stickles for the sparkle you will be adding a little color.
Hope I didn't cheat, I used Stardust pens to outline the leaves and stems, and some colored pencil for the grass detail. Anyway, here's details - stamped Penny Black Garden Poems on white cs in VersaFine Onyx Black, masked the flowers and leaves, and sponged the sky and grass with Studio G chalk inks in two shades of blue for the sky, and a yellow and two shades of green for the grass. A tip that everyone else may know- I used two-way glue on the back of my mask image and let it dry to sticky before cutting the leaf masks. They didn't budge during all that sponging!
I stamped some blue cs with Inkadinkado Flowers and Butterflies with VersaMark to create a subtle background for the image mat and border. Image and mat were cut with LC dies; border is MS Doily Lace edger punch. The image is mounted to mat with a foam piece cut to match and adhered with my Xyron. The image is "colored" with Stickles and MS glitter - and there's a little glitter in the grass (oops!) I cut a Sizzlits Decorative Scallop Strip to match the card base and spritzed with Sparkle Psst Shimmer Spritz. After putting it all together I added Starform gold glitter dots for added interest, and cut the right corners of the card to echo the shape of the diecut image. Well, as close as I could anyway!
As always, thanks for looking!
