Hurray -I'm on Easter break since yesterday. So I had time to make another card for the WT challenge using MFT's sketch.
I found my last two gingham buttons. But bummer, they didn't match my papers at all. Neither did any of my gingham ribbon except the pink, I'll have to use them up with regular papers instead of going matchy-matchy ;-).
5 3/4" square base. Old gingham papers. I got some buttonhole thread for trying out sewing with and I like it - it gives a more defined look. How strange that I've only ever used it for handmade buttonholes before!!
Fred Bear stamped on watercolour paper and coloured with distress inks: vintage photo, frayed burlap, brushed corduroy, iced spruce, soot black, broken china, faded jeans, old paper, antique linen. A silver pen for the skewers and burger flipper.
I pierced the scallops, embossed the white strip with Spots and Dots, and used a scrap of the gingham to make a button that DID match, using an MFT die.
Sentiment is also MFT, I think it's from the Fred and butterfly set.

This is so cute. I really like how you've matted the image on a regular circle, then the scallop -- you did that for TPT, too, I think. Nice effect. And the fact that you pierced every scallop 3 times, well I'm just feeling inadequate after seeing that.
I haven't hung around the notions dept. for a long time, so I don't know what buttonhole thread is. Is it just a heavier thread, like quilting thread? It does show up really nicely.
