I meant to do the Color Challenge last week, but it just did not want to happen. So by today I was left with a worktable full of blue bits and pieces that never got put together. This morning I figured I would do something quick and simple with at least a couple of them. The colors were supposed to be Midnight Muse, Baha Breeze and Marina Mist. I've got Midnight Muse and Baha Breeze here, but no Marina Mist because the card kept insisting it wanted yellow instead of a third blue. Well, you can argue only so long with an obstinate card before you realize it's going to get its way. A dose of Summer Starfruit and a pale yellow ribbon seemed to satisfy this one.
I figure you have to give in to your cards sometimes or your whole studio might stage a rebellion.
On the plus side, I managed dessert (a gem).
I also did finally put a ribbon bow of sorts (actually a knot) on a card, which is a first for me. I find bows impossible to tie in a manner I deem acceptable. When I saw a card with a knotted ribbon on it recently, I thought it might be a way for me to begin approaching ribbon manipulation. Today a knot, tomorrow - who knows?
Thanks for looking!

I'm glad you avoided a rebellion by giving in to your card.
Summer Starfruit is the perfect accent colour. Love your knot, too. I have a couple of "bow makers", so tying decent bows is not the challenge it once was, but knots are often the perfect way to embellish a card. It works perfectly, here.

Oh Rachel - I love the embossed vellum panel. It adds a hint of softness to a lovely crisp, clean layout.
And yes - sometimes you just have to let a card go its own way. I think those cards always turn out well .
And yay for starting to use your ribbon!!
