This is my son's birthday card. He's grown, but all of his life we've had a "thing" for frogs between us. When I saw this adorable set by Penny Black called Toadally Happy, I couldn't resist!
The image was stamped on watercolor paper with VersaFine Onyx Black. I masked it off and stamped the bg with a stamp from Inkadinkado Meadow set. I added watercolor to the plants to soften the lines, and used them to color the pond and sky.
The image was colored with colored pencils, and I highlighted the toad with Glossy Accents and the pond and "splash" with Gelly Roll Stardust pens.
The sentiment is a Michael's $1 bin find. After coloring it with pencils I went over the letters with a clear glaze pen to add another element of interest.
The frame and card base were diecut with SB dies. All in all, I think he's pretty cute!
