I wasn't super happy with my first attempt at today's mixability challenge which I'll chalk up to lessons learned! I still had a bunch of papers out on my desk so I tore and layered away. I was out of town for the alter a map piece challenge earlier this week so this time my base piece is a map. You'll have to trust me as most of it ended up covered by my marine image at the end, but you can still see the compass rose sticking out and a bit below my horizontal strip. I used papers from Well Worn dp as well as some cardboard and brick wall embossed Riding Hood Red. After I modge-podged all my pieces on I added some sponging especially on the torn and distressed edges. My image piece was in my stash-I'd watercolored with WCC earlier so I tore and sponged the edges to the size I wanted. I also had the wood grain textured piece that I distressed, tore, and sponged and accented with some chunky twine. I also pulled the sentiment and punched piece from my stash for a recycled re-mix that I'm much happier with!

Love this one, too, Gail. Great distressed look, and that heavy twine is perfect here!

Very cool! I love the papers you used here for the tearing! Love the torn image piece and the texture of the cardboard and the use of the chunky twine! A fabulous guy card!
