This is a mini-album cover for a project assigned by the facilitator at a monthly crop I attend. It meets the MIX6 challenge to use newspaper and gesso.
I didn't have any gesso, so I made my own following the recipe that Birgit linked to in the challenge. Never having used gesso, I have no idea if it is what it's supposed to be, but it seems to have worked
After adhering newsprint to the chipboard with spray adhesive, I applied the gesso with a foam brush and let it dry. I sanded it lightly and stamped the un-named Hampton Arts image with Versafine Vintage Sienna. A thin acrylic paint layer was brushed on for the sky and grass, but I didn't like the way the grass looked so I sponged over it with Peeled Paint Distress Ink. I used waterbased markers and various Gelly Roll glaze and Stardust pens to color the image. The cloud is acrylic paint I appled with my finger.
I cut the letters with my Cricut and stamped them with a script background stamp in white, then softened them with white pastel. They really should have been smaller! The word "me" is crooked, because there is always SOMETHING crooked on my projects ;)
As always, thanks for looking!
