I made this card for the MIX 7 challenge to use splatter. Tiffany gave us lots of leeway with this challenge and that is awesome. There are already so many amazing examples in the gallery!!!
First, I embossed the trees with white EP. Most of my splatter is from glimmer mists. I misted the green at the bottom of the card and the rusty color towards the top. Next, I sprayed alcohol to blend the colors and soften the edges. Then, while the paper was still wet, I added blobs of color with a blue and a green-blue (those bottles were clogged, so this was awesome to get to use them!) Lastly I used just a bit of distress ink. Those are the darker blue blobs. Because it lays on top of the embossed trees, it seems to give just a little depth.
I added the Robert Frost poem in Versafine. At first I was annoyed the last two lines of the poem are not legible. But then I thought, well that is kinda like when you are drifting of to sleep....so, happy accident!
Thanks so much for an awesome challenge!
