I took liberties in my interpretation of this weeks My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge to make this card for my son who is away at college. The branches that extend across the card are the first layer in the sketch, with the birdhouse being the next layer, and the sentiment being the last.
I created the background with Glossy Paper and Alcohol Inks.
I created my own woodgrain paper with brown cardstock, Versamark, clear embossing powder and a Hero Arts Woodgrain stamp. Then, die cut it with dies from the MFT Die-namics Homespun Birdhouse collection and MFT Woodgrain Fence Die (for flagpost on birdhouse).
The bird was cut with a die from MFT Die-namics Homespun Birdhouse collection. Black Enamel Accents are used for the eye and beak.
The flowers and leaves were cut with dies from the MFT Die-namics Mini Rolled Roses and Royal Leaves collections.
The branch and banner were hand cut.
