the March MFT release is here! you can shop in the MFT Boutique NOW for all the new stamps and Die-namics, and new ink colors.
I used the new Poppy builder and Pretty Poppies stamp set with the new Mix-ability challenge-use newspaper and gesso.
I used the SU newsprint designer series paper inplace of real newspaper. I tore strips of it and added it to the natural cardstock with white gesso. I then created a flowery scene with the MFT Poppy Builder set. I added a bit of texture with the distressed diamonds stamp set and some Kraft ink.
On the gift bag itself, I added some white distress paint and then stamped more Distressed Diamonds over top in Black Licorice ink. To dull the white paint a bit, I sponged a bit of Kraft ink over top of it.
Paper: MFT natural, SU newsprint dsp, electric red cs, black licorice cs,
Ink: MFT black licorice, jellybean green, sour apple, kraft,
Accessories: Poppy Builder Die-namics, electric red grosgrain ribbon, white gesso, picket fences distress paint, circle stax 1 Die-namics, decorative circle Die-namics, black burlap twine, kraft bag

Love the way you used the Gesso technique to decorate this bag! I'll have to play some more to see if I can get the newsprint to show through like yours does.
