I had this piece of paper prepared from the other day's Mixability challenge to use Gesso over newspaper. For this one, I spritzed with refiller and water spray while the Gesso was still wet. Today's challenge is to use the Ombre technique-mine moves top down from dark to light just as in this inspiration picture from A View on Cities website. I loved Dina's tutorial on pencil resist using a stencil so I broke out this Eiffel Tower stencil and colored it in with a black colored pencil. I spritzed again on my dry Gesso with the same blue spray up top and green on the bottom. I inked up my French Script with Marina Mist ink and used a wet wipe to clean off much of it before stamping. I stamped my Fleur de Lis images in Whisper White and added white ep over parts of each one and embossed them. I sponged Island Indigo at the top, Tempting Turquoise in the middle and left the bottom alone. I inked my love sentiment with Versamark then Cherry Cobbler and embossed in clear. I used a Night of Navy marker to ink up just my birds and used my Stamp-a-ma-jig for placement. I took a Sahara Sand marker to go around the edges of my stenciled tower and added a bit of Turquoise and blended with a blender pen on the right side. My final addition was a Cherry Cobbler seam binding brad bow. I framed with Midnight Muse and Black for a 5x7" framable piece.
