This was my first attempt at a collage card, It also is supposed to be a Masculine Birthday card (for my BIL). I learned the hard way that when you use extra sticky large post it notes for a mask that when you take the mask offÂ…part of the card stock will come off as well unless you take some of the sticky off before applying! I also went from Distress inks to Chalks because they are more forgiving. (3 cards later). I also found that my birds when stamped with versamark and then embossed clearÂ…took on the color of the chalks (BLUE) and did not wipe off like the distress inks do. Oh well, my birds needed to be black anywayÂ…(2 more cards) I also had to switch cards stock because for some UNKNOWN reason when I was stamping with the versamark when I pulled the stamp up, the paper came up as well. After two tries (thinking the first time was a fluke) I scrubbed down my stamp with Dawn dish soap and a scrub brush. It happened again. SO I sanded the stamp. (it is not a new stamp, I have used it many times). It happened again. At this point I went to a heavier duty card stock. By now I am sure you are invisoning the STACK of discarded cards. After all this is a one layer card and this is supposed to be quick and easy RIGHT? The very last thing I stamped was the sentiment which is slightly off (I photographed it so it would be less noticiable) but by this timeÂ…. It is what it is! All in all I was O.K. with my results. I am sure the next one will go much faster, as I think I have worked out all the mistakes one person can make on a card like this!

This card is a real standout- it's gorgeous! I feel your pain because sometimes a card will not come together for anything, but your perseverance and efforts paid off - well done!

This card is beautiful, Peggy! I love the contrasts of the blue, white and black! As to your trials and tribulations, I can totally feel your angst, been there, done that, and will be there again! No one sees our discards!

I saw a card today, that you sent to sillyfilly - the copper and white card with a memory box flourish oval and butterfly inside with white leaf flourishes. Could you please tell me what the name of the leaf flourish is, or who makes it?
