Cathy's WT challenge today is to use sponging. Well, that's what got me addicted to distress inks. I used to just sponge the edges of my cards with my little ColorBox Cats Eyes, and then I discovered grown-up sponging .
I had this little bird tag sitting on my desk waiting to be finished into something, so I sponged a quick background.
A2 base. I sponged half with Peeled Paint and half with Stormy Sky, and then stamped the grass on with Forest Moss. Sponged more heavily around the bottom edges with Forest Moss, and added piercing round the blue part.
Tag is a WhipperSnapper stamp on watercolour paper coloured with distress inks ~ Rusty Hinge, Weathered Wood, Peeled Paint, Wild Honey, Barn Door, Vintage Photo. I embossed it with a chicken wire ef, added Glossy Accents to the beak and feet. Foreground sponged in with Tea Dye. Oops - I've been meaning to switch the twine bow out for something else but forgot about that till after I took the photo.

Sabrina, this is so cool! I love everything about this card. Such a fun chicken image and I love the chicken wire embossing. Love the distressing too as well as the paper piercing that finishes off this card so well.
