Stef asked me if I would make a sample for this week's Inspiration Challenge. Of course I said yes!! The site Stef picked is http://www.limogesboxcollector.com. I selected the Blue Butterfly on Flower box as my inspiration piece. As soon as I saw this box I thought of my Sweet 'N Sassy Treasured stamp set. I used the out of the box Nestability technique to cut the image with a circle die and allow part of the butterfly and petals to hang off of the circle. I colored in the image with water color pencils and an aquabrush. I then stamped the image again on another piece of white card stock, colored it the same way and then cut out the butterfly and top petals of the flower. These were attached with glue dots over top of the original image for dimension. I blended PTI Harvest Gold Ink on the circle (like the base of the box) and attached two Harvest Gold ribbons to ground the image. I bent the sentiment from the stamp set so it would fit nicely around the circle.

Really beautifully done, Harriet,........and thank you for telling us how you created this lovely card. Love the "shadow" effect of the darker design elements.

I must smile at the curved sentiment....great idea...myself...i keep remembering to make it straight, but NEVER thought of curving it on purpose to work like this...right on my friend....works so neat...TFS...:0)

I thought those butterfly boxes were simply lovely - and you've really captured those wonderful vivid colours. Using the out-of-the-box really adds a sense of movement and extra dimension.

Harriet, this card is so beautiful. I love the layout of this card. The butterfly is gorgeous and I love the way you sponged the circle to match the ribbons. Love the way you curved the sentiment too.
