I am so excited to see the new Mixed Media Challenge. I had all sorts of ideas, but didn't get anything put together yesterday. I found my inspiration for my first try at the inspiration site Villa Sorgenfrei with this beautiful bracelet. Our mixed media challenge was to use both matte and glossy elements on our project. I started with a page from a National Geographic that I had altered using a technique Lydia shared during Dare To Get Dirty called . I ended up doing almost the whole magazine and putting the cool pages into my stash. Though the inks are spread around, I'd say this is still rather glossy. I used Versafine Smoky Grey ink embossed with black ep for my sentiment/verse and the stems of my flowers. I then used Very Vanilla craft ink for the blooms. After this was mostly dry-I added chalk to the blooms for my matte element. In the left corner, I embossed with clear ep over Versafine Smokey Grey that I wheeled with the Very Vintage wheel. I sponged some Island Indigo over this. I added some grey organdy ribbon to the corners. I had a leftover butterfly that I made last night and I added some pulled denim string for the body and antennae.
