Playing along with the girls in the brand-spankin'-new Mix-ability challenge! Forums at Splitcoaststampers
Lydia asked us to use a matte and a gloss medium for her MIX1 "Yin Yang" challenge.
She did a cool video to show just one of many techniques you could use.
I decided to do an ATC (Artist's Trading Card) using the same mediums she chose, as well as keeping the butterfly theme.
I used a canvas ATC from Want2Scrap and one of my newest Inky Antics stamp releases called Swirly Butterflies. See the entire set, as well as my other new releases here... http://www.inkyantics.com/swirlyspring.htm
I lightly gessoed the canvas after attaching it to some chipboard. I then stamped the image and sentiment and heat embossed with clear UTEE. Then I spritzed the butterfly area with a pink spray mist, and dabbed a few specks of green mist on hit and miss with a paintbrush. I went over the entire butterfly with a clear drying liquid adhesive and a paintbrush (this moved some of the color around, which I hadn't planned on, but it worked) then I heat embossed clear UTEE over it. The final touch was some stitch lines around the edge with a fine tip marker.
I sure hope you will play along with us each and every Friday. It's going to be a blast!
Hugs,
True
