It's the last day of January and I've been meaning to do the SCS Fan Club January Christmas Challenge so finally sat down and made a card. The theme was Christmas Wedding - be inspired by borrowed, blue, new, old.
I've done a strange take on the blue - the colour of one of my English Cocker Spaniels is called "blue roan" - a blend of black, grey, and white. So my "blue" for the card is the blue roan cockers - although I didn't quite get the colouring right on my image. IRL my dog is more sort of "tweedy" with the colours mixed up more. The dp is a nice blue-grey blend to match. There's also the blue of the balloon.
"Borrowed" is the stamp - my dogs' breeder buys all sorts of English Cocker paraphenalia and she picked up this stamp as the dogs on it are pretty close to English Cockers. She's not a cardmaker (but uses stamps in her elementary school classroom) so she lent it to me for some cards. I may have to buy it as I think it's really fun.
"Old" is the scrap of red cardstock and the dp, and "new" is the cardbase - my new package of PTI white cs.
In the UK, where the English Cocker originated, they are typically referred to as the "Merry Cocker" because of their happy dispositions, so I used just the "merry" part of a Merry Christmas sentiment.
I coloured the image with a water brush and my Memento dewdrop inks.

Susan, this is sooooo cute with the pups in their Santa hats. That was interesting about the English Cocker being called the Merry Cocker in the UK. I learned something new today. :-)
