Today is the first Mix-Ability challenge. What is it? A great way to introduce ourselves into mixed media with an "I CAN do it" attitude.
Lydia is starting us out with a Yin Yang Challenge, to mix a matte finish with a shiny finish. My matte finish is brown acrylic paint in two ways; watered down to darken the pattern paper and then splattered on the pears and pattern paper for distressing. I chose Goosebumps for my shiny finish on the pear label.

Exquisite in every way. Beautiful collage of elements and glorious coloring. I adore pears and was actually pruning my pear tree today. TFS the NEW Mix-Ability Challenge

Beautiful beautiful beautiful. Love the carefully designed bits of randomness and haphazdarness you've got going on here. Even the tape looks a delightfully planned afterthought. And then your pear image is coloured with such care and attention. Love that mix.

Oh, I love that! I can't spatter successfully, but when other people do it it looks great. I must have done it as a kid! I think I just don't like the lack of control . Love those pears.
