I had already made some calendars, but still needed to make one more, so this challenge encouraged me to get it done. This is going to go to my oldest daughter. My younger daughter already claimed her calendar. Daydream Designs has a calendar in the store that I just love. It is called 2013 Desktop Calendar with Scriptures. I added some more scriptures about God's Promises to the blank part of the calendar that can be decorated. I used up scraps from projects from the past couple of day. I made a collage that I sewed to the main base. I embellished with quilled roses, pearls, buttons and floral filler. I made my calendar by making an easel card. Using my computer I printed "this is the day that the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it." I sewed coordinating colors to the base of the easel. I added two brads for stoppers.

What a wonderful way to display a calendar! I love the quilted bg and all the little embellishments to go with the "quilt". I'm sure your daughter will think of you each time she looks at this.

Oh my - we did have very similar ideas . I guess I just automatically went for putting the calendar on the base because I'd made a couple of photo easels with calendars for Christmas gifts, and I knew it worked perfectly as a stop to hold the easel open. But yours is gorgeous with those soft colours and your beautiful flowers. I'm sure your daughter will love it.

MariLynn, what a lovely collage for this calendar. And how wonderful to fill it with scripture, as a reminder of the shortness of our days. Those flowers and beautiful colors really speak to me of you!! Thanks for sharing, friend.
