Once again, I made cards for my parents to give as gifts to their beloved friends and health care givers at their senior citizen's center. This year, I decided to go Tim. His December tags of the 12 Tags of 2012 gave me goose pimples. OMG! What inspiration. I wanted to use some of his techniques. But in the spirit of creativity with fun, I went for it.
The sizzix Christmas dies he created were to "die" for. I loved this year's collection that included the cardinal. I also used the kraft resist Christmas paper as well as the seasonal paper pad. This card featured the cardinal and the kraft resist paper. Because the kraft paper presented a coloring challenge, I decided that it would be great background for those wonderful dies. The music page was one of my favorite. So, I used distress inks and picket fence stain. After receiving some advice from Tammy Tutterow on the kraft resist paper, I used the distress markers on the holly and berries really made the page pop! The cardinal was cut out of grunge paper an colored with distress stains and markers. The red bird was cut out of a deep red card stock that was subtly stamped with a music sheet stamp and edges distressed. I followed Tim's instructions on coloring the bird. That 'Merry Christmas" stamp is also Tim's. Real BOLD! I was so pleased with the finished product, I kissed myself in the mirror. You know the feeling!
The one point that I insisted on when doing these cards was to do them in the spirit of love with a heart full of grace. Tim always said that 'it doesn't have to be perfect." Such freeing words. That's why I love him!
