I would have loved to make a birthday card but I needed a card to give to my neighbor that I forgot at Christmas. So I decided to make a New Years card.
I kept her celebration theme but instead of cupcakes I stamped and wet embossed a bg of fireworks and stars. The stamp is from Great Impressions -fireworks & stars G303. Layered that on an opal metallic paper.
My "2013" is cut from a Sizzix alphabet set in the same silk opal metallic card stock. Layered that on black card stock and punched a few stars.
My sentiment is another Great Impressions stamp - "holiday hugs - A143". I used a SU decorative label punch to cut it out.

I love your 2013 card and that you left it black and white. The year has not started and we all get to fill in the color. Don't you just look forward to it!

Love this Mary! Elegant, and fun. Beautiful case!

Mary, what a great celebration! I love the fireworks stamp you used!!! Your sentiment is lovely and how cool that you stamped some of the fireworks overlapping onto the die cut! Wonderful case and whether birthday or New Year's, they looks like lots of FUN!

What a fabulous New Years wish for your friend (I had a couple of those too-late-for-Christmas cards to make too, this year!). I love all the sparkle and shimmer, and the festive feeling from the fireworks.
