For our annual ornament white elephant party. I made a fancy hanger for each of the participants
I used 18 gauge copper and aluminum wire, and 20 g brass wire. Aluminum is softer and easier to work with, but does not hold its shape as well. I cut each piece about 6.5", made an loop at one end with jewelry pliers (round nose, but you can probably use needle nose with tape over ends to protect the finish on the wire). Then shape around a jig - I used a nail polish bottle. Make a 90 degree bend using needle nose pliers, string your beads, make another 90 degree bend, make loo in other end, then shape bottom hook around something - I used a Q crochet hook, but large markers work well. If you want a dangle on the tree end, attach before you close the first loop. Some of my dangles were pre-made, some I made with 22 gauge colored copper wire. TFL
