I made an advent calendar for the first time for my daughter, using the SU #2 Box Die http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...&ppuser=316610 and did not want to just fill it with candy. I am making some Alcohol Ink and Glitter ornaments for an ornament exchange and I found these adorable 1" glass balls at Michaels. A little fixative swooshed around the inside (lots of people use Pledge floor Care finish - I just had some satin acrylic craft varnish lying around - anything liquidy and clear-drying will do), let it drain a few moments, put in some extra fine glitter and shake it (with your finger over the top!). Pour out the excess.
My trick for easy attachment to earrings is to pull the little wire out of the ornament top, put it thru the loop on the ear wire, put the cap on the ornament then pinch the wire and insert into the holes. Also keeps from scratching the glitter. I put some adhesive snowflakes on for extra bling, but they are gorgeous on their own. The photo does not show the glitter as much as in real life. And they fit perfectly into the advent calendar box.
