In your photo it looks like the embossed part is white. Is that how these metal sheets are? Do they lose their color when you emboss or did you add the lighter color. I've done asimilar project with 7UP cans cut apart and that gives a nice red and green project (with words). How are the edges of this sheet? Did you have to worry about cutting your fingers? Are these sheets as thick as a cut up soda can?

Thanks for your comment! Check out my blog and you can get a link to Monica Weaver's tutorial on how she makes these. The "white spots" are achieved by lightly sanding the product after they have been embossed. I didn't get my metal sheets from her. There are plenty of places selling them. I have made pins from soda cans as well but these metal sheets are easier to handle - not so sharp.
