This card for John, a fellow Teapotter's husband, who unexpectedly and suddenly lost his brother. It is also for the Casology18 challenge, and was inspired by this week's QFTD137 AudreyAnn. John's journey is proving to be very difficult. We are hoping our cards will let him know that people care and that they will bring him some comfort.
Rather than a detailed, fancy card, I made a CAS card. I used the same bird image. I used flowers instead of flourishes and as she did, added a framed sentiment. Her bird is vibrant blue and beautiful. Mine is much more simple and orange-breasted. THANKS for the inspiraton AudreyAnn. Enjoy your week as queen.
I also had this week's CASology#18 challenge in mind when I made this card for John. The challenge is to use the color orange on your card. Hence, the orange breasted bird + tail, and the inside frame w/sentiment. I used a blend of Prisma Spanish orange, orange and terra cotta watercolor pencils to color the breast and tail, and Ranger di spiced marmalade on the inside label.
Stamps: SU (the flowers were originally on a wheel and I don't know the name), PTI
Paper: Paper Studio, Walmart black cardstock, Michael's Valu-Pack white
Ink: Stazon, Ranger di, Prisma watercolor pencils
Accessories: PTI die, Vagabond, SU blender

Oh my this is fabulous!!!!!!! It's hard to believe these are the same birds - yours is BREATHTAKING!! It reminds me of all the red breasted Robins in my area - they are so fun and so full of energy, and I love watching them in the yard. I like the simple style you've chosen, it seems perfect for what you need and I hope it brings some comfort to John - it's truly beautiful. Thank you for visiting my gallery and finding inspiration. Hugs!!
